IF...I hate this "welfare queen" bullshit. IF anyone thinks being on disability is like being on easy street, then they are just plain fucking stupid.

As someone who is on disability the personal price I pay for it is very high, I can't drive, I can't get married, and I can't work.

I would gladly trade 1000 of my "best" days (which are few and far between) for your worst day. There are nights I pray to God that I don't wake up because of the pain I live in.

I didn't ask to be born. I don't whine, moan, and bitch about it because there is nothing that can be done about it. So I grin and bear it. I don't never have want any one's pity, just your understanding.

But if they cut disability then I'm DEAD. I don't mean that has hyperbole or as a metaphor I mean it as a FACT. My disability allows me to have some semblance of a life.

So yeah okipoli maybe you are not a heartless bastard, but the people that represent "Conservative" values are threatening my life. So when I vote on Nov. 2 I'm voting to protect my life first and foremost and even if I weren't on disability I would still vote for the Democrats because most of them represent my beliefs.Christopher Backhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12488545358326075545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7342454496014200176.post-12436799905272875182010-10-23T19:25:16.163-04:002010-10-23T19:25:16.163-04:00Steeve,
I agree 100% with everything you said, e...Steeve,

I agree 100% with everything you said, especially the rationalizing part - I do that too! LOL. And you know what? I think it will happen. We're just still about 10 years ahead of our time on that one.

BUT... the internet will STILL NOT fix the problem of misinformation and mis-education of teh public. If anything? The internet is the AM Radio CUBED as far as the biased portions go. The debate might be WIDER, but that's no guarantee that BOTH sides (or either!) will necesarily be any better educated or infomred about the issues. (And thus that the gov't will be "pushed" in the right direction!)

Thanks for your comment.Niceguy Eddiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03896896323840121445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7342454496014200176.post-34164455016665595502010-10-23T15:08:14.327-04:002010-10-23T15:08:14.327-04:00Didn't read all of that; two things jumped out...Didn't read all of that; two things jumped out.

"No one thinks of themselves as a 'heartless bastard.'" -- when the big money starts rolling in, lots of people are perfectly comfortable rationalizing being a heartless bastard. Slightly in the same vein that I rationalize being overwhelmingly arrogant.

"The Democrats have shown themselves to be little more than 'Republican-lite.'"

As long as there continues to be a massive difference in results depending on who's in charge, I'll be uncomfortable with that phrasing. In any case, all narrowing of debate has one source and one source only -- the media.

Completely regardless of politicians, the width of debate is determined by what is represented in media that most people use. If the mainstream media fulfills my dream of reporting on nothing but cute kittens all day, the media that most people use will be the internet, and we'll get wider debate, and it'll push the government.steevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12620735494191381865noreply@blogger.com
