July 17th show

It's been up on my YouTube Channel for a while now, but in case you're not subscribed there (and if you're not, WHY NOT?!) but IF YOU'RE NOT, here is my show with Legendary Nazi Puncher Skarrlett Krow, who's local police department lost some facial-recognition privileges after violating her civil rights and Johnah Barton who is making a call for some help from the LGBTQIA+ community with a visibility project and the formation of a new social media community.

 

YouTube Censorship

Unfortunately, YouTube saw fit to block the video of my interview with Dr. Robin Schoenthaller regarding her work getting ACCURATE INFORMATION out to the public with regards to the... divoC "outbreak."

It was flagged for "medical misinformation." I appealed, on the basis that nothing in the interview, said by either myself or Dr. Schoenthaller, was in fact in conflict with ANY of YouTube's Standards regarding medical misinformation. Which, I should add, I APPLAUD them for for having, agree with 100% and which can be read HERE.

I lost the appeal and the video was taken down. 

Now I want to be clear: I do applaud YouTube for taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the content on their platform. I agree that it is their right to take videos down over content. And I agree with the Community Standards as they are written. But nobody can seem to tell me WHAT I GOT WRONG. (And thus I'm robbed of the chance to correct the record. I may only be a pretend journalist, but I'd still like to be a GOOD pretend journalist!) So if you'd like to help me out, you can find the interview on the post below on in the IMHO-2021 tab at the top f the page. (Its the 12th show.)

If you can tell me what I said (and approximately when it occurs in the video) that violates ANY of the Standards as described in YouTube's own policy (the above link) PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I will remove or address the offending section, and HOPEFULLY be able to re-post the corrected video to my channel here.

Once again: I applaud YouTube for having standards. I agree with the standards as laid out. I have no problem with them removing videos that violate them, or creators who repeatedly do. My only problem? I don't think I did. I'm on THEIR SIDE in all of this, regarding medical misinformation. And they never did tell me specifically what I did wrong. In that case? I don't think it's right to censor content so arbitrarily. I don't even want to argue with them. I just want to know, so that I can FIX IT.

 *phew* Finally caught up!

This is my interview with Dr. Robin Schoenthaller, the Boston Cancer Doc Who Writes About Covid.  (And has the longest name in the history of IMHO.) (Here's her Facebook, which has most of her Covid related articles.) This is playing directly from my Mixcloud, because YouTube pulled the video for "Medical Misinformation" which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what we are doing here, according to YouTube OWN STANDARDS.

1) Get vaccinated

2) Masks work

3) Dr. Anthony Fauci is a credible expert who was right about everything, according to the best information available at every given point in time.

4) Same goes for the CDC, WHO, etc...

If you DISAGREE with any of those statement, the YOU, my friend, would be in violation of YouTube's community standards. (So take it up with them.) But I AGREE with them. And somehow still got the video blocked. But they can't silence me: Here I am, and here it is.

And we're going to have a talk about YouTube's arbitrary and capricious enforcement of their Community Standards.

Suzanne is the Author of the "Rumplepimple" series of children's books and the "Where True Love Is" series of affirming Christian devotionals covering every topic from LGBTQIA+ relationships and identities, family, abortion, sex, sexuality and ultimately the  deconstruction of faith and doubt. Her partner, Declan manages the incredible outreach and online community that has grown from these works. These are two of my favorite people in the world, and easily two of my favorite Christians. I strongly encourage you to check out the amazing work that they're doing.

Coming up on IMHO, RainbowRadio and YouTube...

A great conversation on Rainbow last night with E.B. Coternord about sex work, and the attitudes, laws and issues surrounding it.  This is one show that really challenged me and forced me to change some of my attitudes more than most do. If you missed it on Rainbow, you can play it below, and it will live (along with the rest of this year's shows) in the IMHO-2021 tab at the top of the page. 

 

The shows are also being migrated over to my YouTube Channel. All of the 2021 shows will be posted at the same time that they drop on Mixcloud (which is what this blog links to.) In addition the audio-only content that airs on Rainbow (and is included here) the YouTube channel will also included the uncut, unedited VIDEO footage from these intervioews as well. SO check that out if you want to put some faces to the voices you hear, and occasioanlly see how awkward and clumsy it gets sometimes. Lol.

I'm also slowly but surely working through the back catalog of shows to get all of those uploaded to YouTube as well. I'm about a third of the way through 2015 at this point, and the newer software and faster upload speed is really making short work of it.

IMHO Returns to Rainbow Radio!

In case you missed it, last week, after a nearly four year absence, IMHO aired one again on RainbowRadio.FM! Although there will be off weeks, we will generally air at 9:PM EST on Saturdays.

My first guest was a frequent visitor to the old podcast, Terra Snover. Back in the day, Terra was the writer and artist behind the Mock Girl webcomic. Since then she's run for congress and published her first novel Another Online: All Hail the Queen. We take a look back at the past four years, talk about all the WTF that happened, and look at how we might move forward. The show can be accessed below, and in the newly added IMHO-2021 tab, above.

Ford v. Kavanaugh

Such an odd spectacle today. I didn't catch all of it, but in what I did, Ford looked and sounded legit and Kavanaugh just looked... bad.  I think the Republicans getting a sex crimes prosecutor to question her was... misguided?  (I mean, if you look at it from their strategic POV?) They wanted someone to poke holes in HER STORY. Um... Guys? THAT'S NOT WHAT SEX CRIMES PROSECUTORS *DO*.  In the context of the PROSECUTOR, if we were to assume this was a hypothetical "trial." WHO DID THEY THINK WAS ON TRIAL?!  See... In their minds, it was FORD. But from the POV of a SEX CRIMES PROSECUTOR?! KAVANAUGH is the DEFENDANT here and Ford is the Victim / STAR WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION!  I'm not saying Mitchell didn't go after her, only that going after victims is NOT WHAT SHE DOES for a living. She doesn't badger alleged sex crime victims... if anything she'd be badgering THE ACCUSED! (PROSECUTOR?! Anyone know what it is that THEY DO?! I think they would have wanted a DEFENSE ATTORNEY for that role!) Wow.

And here Ford was, being grilled about the most traumatic experience of her life and basically KEEPING HER SHIT TOGETHER. Though barely. You could see... tell... hear... FEEL that it was difficult for her. And come on, guys... If that was acting then she needs to be in Hollywood, winning ALL of the Oscars. Sorry, Righties. That shit was LEGIT. And then you have Kavanaugh. Raising his voice. Sounding angry, and beyond defensive even. I'm not going to say that he sounded as if he was LYING, (because, YES, I'm BIASED,) but he sounded rehearsed (at best) when giving his speech, and then downright testy when answering questions. Regardless of if you believe him or not, you can't say that he looked GOOD. And I can't imagine the Republicans are happy with how things went today.

(I wish I drew as much satisfaction as they do from "Triggering [Conserva]tards.")

(And BTW... What happened to all the trolls who spent all of last week telling us that she wouldn't show?! Where did they all GO?!)

And while I may go to hell for pointing this out... BRETT... Your speech, Brett... Where you spoke so passionately about coaching girls High School Basketball... Maybe it's just me... PROBABLY just me... but MAYBE you don't really want people thinking about you and High School girls in the same thought.  JUST SAYIN'.

In any case, will any of this make a difference? Shit, who knows? I hope so. I hope it does. But in actuality, this was all just political theater, This was done for one reason and one reason alone: So that Republicans like Susan Collins and Lisa  Murkowski and Red State Democrats like Joe Manchin, Joe  Donelly and Heidi Heitkamp can find political cover to vote against him without angering the Republican Base.  Personally I think they HAVE that now. Especially if the FBI is not being called on to investigate further. (And honestly, there is NO REASON Kavanaugh should want that!)

So what happens next? God only knows.

It would be an absolute disgrace and an affront to women everywhere and sexual assault victims in particular, if he gets confirmed after this. And years ago I may have bet against him, but I put NOTHING past today's Deplorable Republicans.  I hope he gets no-voted or voted down. After that? Well, shit... DO they try to cram through Amy Coney Barrett, (who would be an absolute nightmare on the Court,) on the basis that she couldn't possibly have any women coming forth saying that she sexually assaulted them? (I know, guys, I know.) Or does Trump learn a lesson here and give us... I don't know... someone like Thomas Hardiman - a Conservative, of course, but one a bit closer to Anthony Kennedy than Antonin Scalia?  I'll be honest here, I'm not going to LIKE anyone Trump is likely to pick (especially seeing as he got his short list from the God damned Federalist Society) and this is the EXACT SCENARIO I was so desperate to avoid throughout the 2016 Election cycle, as you may recall. (And BOY do I hate being right all the time!)  But Trump IS the President and the President does get to nominate Supreme Court Justices, who are then entitled to a Confirmation Hearing in the Senate.
