The Gingrich Campain

Were you aware that Newt Gingrish has been married three times? Or that he addmited to having n affari with one of these women while married to his first wife and pursuing the impeachment of President Clinton because he lied about an affiar?  How about the many times he was investigated by the House Ethicas Committee? Or that he eventually resigned in disgree from the Speaker's position due to these?

WELL, if you're looking for these facts on Gingrich's Wikipedia Page, there's a good chance you are NOT going to find them there.  That's because,a ccordign to CNN, Gingrich's Camapign people are buysy scrubbing the Page of any and all FACTUAL REFERENCES to his three marriages, or to his being investiagted by the House Ethics Committee.

Censorship. An AMERICAN Value. Who knew?

What. A. Scumag.

And do you know the most amazing part? To me anyway?  This comes from the same school of Political "thought" (and I use that term VERY loosely!) that routinely aregues that MMFA is somehow a "smear site," citing no other evidence than their progrssive agenda. The same peopl who labeled the White House's "figt the smears" website and web-campaign as "Nazi" in Nature.

Wow.  So... Battling Right-Wing Propaganda and demonstrably false statements being made by the media is NAZIST.  But DICEMINIATING THAT PROPAGANDA and CENSORING FACTUAL STATEMENTS that one finds inceovenient? That's AMERICAN.

IMHO, Gingrich should new have to produce HIS birth cirtificate, in long form. I have a hard time bvelieveing that anyone born in this country could have so little understanding of what it stands for. The Gingrich campaign should be ashamed, as should anyone who has voted form him. If he can even stand by the life the he himself has led, why shoudl ANYONE of ANY POLITICAL PURSUATION be willing to stand by HIM?!

Just another example of what has become part of my core philosophy, and one of the reaosn that I'm willing to accept the "Liberal" or "Progreissve" label with pride, even though I do not follow any prescribed ideology:

A Liberal will tell you how you're wrong.
A Conservative will tell you how you're Liberal.

And you know what?

They'll both be right!

I think everyone already knows all these facts. At what moment in history would Gingrich want to plaster that information on his own site? I'll bet you take all the 'bad stuff' off of your own site, too (do you call that censoring?). Besides, it's not like there is anyone in the world who isn't capable of googling anything that a progressive feels is hypocritical.
I do think Newt's constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech out-weighs your claims of censorship. Only, it isn't called censoring when a person is cleaning up their own information.

  2. Oh Puh-lease: Out-debating a Conservative is about as difficult as putting on a hat. You people really are impressed with yourselves. But, no, sadly, I have very little to fear from you lot. Sorry, Will, the only stuff I take off this site is blatant spam. If I "censored" unpopular poliical opinion no one here would know you exsist, and I'd have to work a lot harder to get people to visit the site. The fact is? I just don't get a lot Conservtaive commentary here. And I wish I DID: It's good for business!

And you know what? You're right about his "right to free speech." I never suggested it wasn't his RIGHT to do as he would to his wiki page. (Though it's not "his site." Wiki pages aren't owned by ANONE, and ANYONE has the right to edit them. Just FYI.) But having that right, doesn't MAKE IT right!

He's not "cleaning up his information." That's Orwellian doublespeak nonsense. He's whitewashing his own personal history. Is that free speech? Sure: It's called PROPAGANDA. What's more? The information he's "cleaning up" (as you put with so much benign perversity) is FACTUAL, HISTORICAL INFOMRMATION and a matter of PUBLIC RECORD. Whitewashing your personal history on line may be within your Constitutional rights, but it's hardly a show of character, and harldy a reason to vote for someone.

BTW, my pointing it out this nonsense? That's MY right to free speech.

  3. Eddie, I'm not talking about you censoring unpopular stuff that is on your site. I'm talking about you not having unpopular stuff that is personally about you that you don't think others should know. I'm really hoping you honestly know the difference, but I understand if you don't.

However, none of that takes away from the FACT that anything can still be found out about Newt that you want everyone to find out, it's just that HE doesn't have to be the one telling you. It is a free speech right that you have (you are correct) that you can tell anything about him you want, but it is NOT a free speech right that HE has to be the one telling you. So keep your pencil sharp and be prepared to diligently propagate all the dirt you can find.

"But having that right, doesn't MAKE IT right! "

That is a strange thing for a liberal to say. Considering all the rights that you demand others have, now you say it isn't right to take advantage of rights that you are constitutionally guaranteed?

"The fact is? I just don't get a lot Conservtaive commentary here. And I wish I DID: It's good for business! "

Yes, it is (you're welcome). If it wasn't for me, I don't think you'd have more than 10 posts TOTAL over the last 2 months. More than a week goes by before anyone posts on the candidate that the left seems to fear greatly.

In case you hadn't noticed, William, it's been more than a week since Gingrich was Newtered. He doesn't scare anybody. If he were to get the nomination, Republicans who 'worked with him' in Congress would be skipping the top of the ticket or voting for Obama. Some of them have gone on record, saying the-only-Speaker-ever-to -resign-in-disgrace should never be President.

"I'm talking about you not having unpopular stuff that is personally about you that you don't think others should know. I'm really hoping you honestly know the difference, but I understand if you don't."

Isn't karma wonderful? I love it when someone makes a really stupid argument, and then compounds that stupidity by arrogantly demeaning his opponent's intelligence.

There is a world of difference between scrubbing unsavory, publicly known and relevant facts from a website in order to 'reintroduce' and sell oneself, as Newt did, and choosing not to volunteer embarrassing and irrelevant personal information on a political blog.

"If it wasn't for me, I don't think you'd have more than 10 posts TOTAL over the last 2 months."

Careful now...if you sprain that shoulder patting yourself on the back and can't type, Eddie's going to go broke.

I love it when more than one liberal acts as though they know what's being said when neither 'get it', and try their best to explain away their confusion by blaming others. Do you liberals ever accept responsibility for your own failures?

"Careful now...if you sprain that shoulder patting yourself on the back"

Hmmm, do facts embarrass you that much? Heck even Eddie has said he has never had as much success (financially) as since I came to his site.

  8. Aw, c'mon William, you've stopped trying.
Your second comeback shows you to be as humor deficient as your first shows you to be logic challenged. Now it's true that most of your posts do that, but most of them also have something outrageous enough to warrant a response. This one was pretty weak tea. Perhaps you were up too late...or too early? Not sure which time zone the stamp is keyed to.

By the way, since you've shown your gratitude for this kind of correction before, head to the dictionary and check out the difference between 'vile' and 'vial.'
