Well, FUCK YOU.
“Today’s mothers are twice as likely to die of pregnancy- or childbirth-related causes than their mothers were. There is no reason, given our vast resources, knowledge and technology, why we should be going backwards in this area.” – Laura Gilkey, coordinator of The Safe Motherhood Quilt Project, a nonprofit based in Sarasota, Fla.
Globally, only a few countries have seen a rise in the rate of maternal deaths in recent years. Those include Afghanistan, El Salvador, South Sudan and the United States of America.

Well done, Republicans, I hope you're happy. First you destroyed the traditional family unit, and now you're actually killing women.
How much longer do we have to suffer these psychopaths, America? How long before more of you start to realize what I've been saying all along: Right-Wing Conservative Republicans only come in two flavors : EVIL and STUPID. One's lying and the other's buying.
How much more damage must we let them do? How many more lives will we let them destroy?
Interesting article from your "FUCK YOU" link. All the advertisements on the side are exploitations of women as sex objects. Must be a liberal site. They seem so engrossed with sex and demand their sexual rights then whine about the results of those rights.
ReplyDeleteBTW Eddie, I don't see any correlation between those deaths you cry about and republicans causing them Can you point out where republicans are the fault of women dying during birth and not the medical expertise being offered? Perhaps you should aim your whine towards the medical community for being so lax in their ability to save lives while they kill unborn humans.
Never mind, you aren't real good at bringing true facts.
"How many more lives will we let them destroy?"
http://www.who.int/gho/hiv/epidemic_status/deaths/en/
I don't think it is the "Right-Wing Conservative Republicans" causing so many deaths. And yet you demand rights for people causing millions of deaths yearly. I would say some witty comment on how you lefties are causing so many deaths, but I'm just not smart enough to think of one. Gosh, it's a terrible thing being dumb and supporting life instead of smart and supporting death. You sure got me on that one.
LOL. Aside for the fact that the upper map might as well be the electoral map from the last four elections? Aside for the fact that Republican anti-abortion restrictions have managed to shut down so many clinics that were the only ones providing pre-natal care, cancer screenings and contraception (in addition to just abortion services) to the poor? Aside from the fact that the reddest areas in the top map correspond to the to states in the lower charts with the most restrictions? Aside from the fact that this is the exact this Liberals have been warning about for years in your lot's reckless crusade to deny women the same level of bodily sovereignty that we give to CORPSES. Yeah, no connection at all.
ReplyDeleteBTW... What does HIV/AIDS in Africa have to do with Abortion Laws in the US? If you're going to invoke AIDS as a way of INOCULATING the Right from criticism, you might to know more about Ronald Reagan's role in the AIDS epidemic.
Finally, I'll leave you with this thought. ANY opinion on abortion is going to be fraught with contradictions. Anyone who doesn't see that is either a psychopath or an idiot. It's a complex issue with no simple answer. If you think otherwise, you're wrong and the article I linked to is one way of proving that. (Having the ability to think about things deeper than a three word slogan helps too.) So while we're on the topic of contradictory thinking, let's take a look at how Republicans treat poor women:
1) They insist on abstinence-only education in public schools, even though it been shown to be ineffective in preventing teen pregnancy.
2) The get behind laws and rulings that make it harder for women to obtain effective contraception. This in the name of "religious freedom."
3) They do their damnedest to make sure that getting an abortion is as difficult as possible, if it's possible at all.
Then they justify their Welfare policies by looking at poor, single mothers and telling them "Don't have kids you can't afford!"
Assholes. All.
Having an opinion about Abortion (one that we share, actually) doesn't make you a better person. Not shoving your opinion down other ACTUAL PEOPLE'S throats in ways that affects their legal rights, health, careers, bodily sovereignty and average lifespan?
Yeah... THAT generally does. And I sleep very well at night knowing that the politicians I support don't do that.
"Yeah, no connection at all."
DeleteYou mean the government (republicans only) started forbidding hospitals and other clinics from helping the poor? You mean the government stopped providing health care because anti-abortion republicans told them to? You mean anti-abortion republicans are able to completely exclude all women from proper health care? I don't think so, Tim. Bring the actual proof of that and not some generalized map of mortality rates without reasons for the mortality.
"It's a complex issue with no simple answer. If you think otherwise, you're wrong and the article I linked to is one way of proving that. "
You seem to have quite the tunnel-vision view of anti-abortion and abortion rights in general. So are you a psychopath or idiot?
"1) They insist on abstinence-only education in public schools,"
But next to never get it. It is always prevented by lefty politicians and beurocrats.
"2) The get behind laws and rulings that make it harder for women to obtain effective contraception."
But those laws are seldom enacted.
"3) They do their damnedest to make sure that getting an abortion is as difficult as possible, if it's possible at all."
And, it should be difficult to kill a human. Just look at how hard it is to execute an already proven guilty criminal.
So you don't believe that the Republican's war on women's health, which has shut down clinics in THOSE VERY (RED) AREAS has ANYTHING to do with increased mortality in females? Even IF some Democrats helped them pass it, said legislation is still Right-Wing and Conservative in nature. And if you don't think there's a connection? You're fucking delusional. This is EXACTLY what the Liberals and Feminists have been warning about for years now! How's the view from under all that sand anyway?
DeleteAnd my opinion about abortion? VERY complex. And fraught with contradiction. As is YOURS, but I'M the only one of us who sees it. I don't have "tunnel-vision" I have a CONCLUSION after years of thought and reasoning. YOU, sir, are the one, as is most of the Right and RW-Christains, that has "tunnel-vision" when it comes to abortion. Shit, every single issue I bring up ends up being dismissed by you because I'm not screeching like a banshee over abortion like it's the only wrong ever being perpetrated by or to anyone, anywhere in the world. Not only does your tunnel-vision prevent a reasoned discussion on abortion, but indeed on ANY and EVERY issue, particularly those COMPLETELY UNRELATED to it!
And in all seriousness? We should actually talk about abortion some time. I mean directly and exclusively as a topic. I'd even host a pod-cast of such a discussion, if you were up for it.
Now, moving on...
1) Really? The do in... well, in those RED areas. (Whether you're looking at the map above, or an electoral one.) And, uh... THANK GOD that there are some "lefty politicians and beurocrats" that make sure at least SOME of our kids are getting GOOD, ACCURATE and COMPLETE information.
2) Again...
3) That's not the point. The POINT is that when you take these three things in totality, and in one's ideological agenda, and then turn around and say "don't have kids you can't afford" to that single mom, whom you neither want to assist nor pay a living wage to?
There's a word for that. Several, actually, but my favorite one lately is:
DOUCHEBAG.
And that's all the Republicans do these days is try to out-Douchebag each other in a misguided strategy to appeal to as many like-minded douchebags as possible to win the primary, even though, with social media, they can't disappear all that douchebagery like they used to be able to and thus have no hope of winning in the General election. (You know, when actual decent human beings come out and vote in reasonable numbers.)
Unless they actually BELIEVE all this ignorant, hate-filled crap. In which case "douchebag" doesn't even BEGIN to cover it.
"So you don't believe that the Republican's war on women's health, which has shut down clinics in THOSE VERY (RED) AREAS has ANYTHING to do with increased mortality in females? "
DeleteNo. This county is too liberal to allow that from happening. There are plenty of opportunities for women to get any amount of health care they need. Just go to Planned Parenthood.
"You're fucking delusional. "
No, you are if you think women are unable to find health care. Again: Planned Parenthood. If they can't provide or advise women on how to get health care then it is the liberal who has failed. And don't blame THAT on the conservative or republican.
"Shit, every single issue I bring up ends up being dismissed by you because I'm not screeching like a banshee over abortion like it's the only wrong ever being perpetrated by or to anyone, anywhere in the world. "
STFU. Planned Parenthood provides everything that any women (who wants an abortion or prenatal care) can ask for. If they can't provide it or advise them, then you've got a point. Until then ...
"DOUCHEBAG."
Right back atcha, until you accept that liberals have provided everything a women can need with the inception of Planned Parenthood. Have you ever noticed that most of there locations are near High Schools? No, you probably haven't.
As Barby would say: "you got anything else"?
Nothing else is needed. I'll happily let this exchange stand as is.
