New Avatar

The new avatar (not the cheesey dollar-bill motif, just the guy INSIDE it) was created by Munky Wrench of Bentwrench Studios.

His art kicks all ass, and he takes commissions. (And FYI...? It's a pretty fair likeness!)

So if you need a logo, avatar, or any other manner of artwork, drop him a line. Because IMHO, he NAILED this one, out of the park, first time out.

Got a shout out!

Coming up...

I'm happy to announce that IMHO RADIO will be expanding to include a Sunday Afternoon show! While the Tuesday show has been almost exclusively an interview show so far, and will continue to be for as long as I can keep finding great and interesting guests that want to come on. The plan is for the Sunday show to be more along the lines of the videos that I had been doing prior to taking this gig, just riffing off of stories that I find throughout the week, and giving my take on the issues of the day.  The first of these will be this Sunday, 6/14.

I mentioned in the last post that next week's show (6/16) will feature Suzanne DeWitt Hall, who's new book, Rumplepimple is now available on Amazon. (I've got my copy coming!) Suzanne and I had a great conversation, covering the book, Popes John Paul and Francis (and that guy in the Middle), and how a strait Catholic woman and a straight Baptist woman get together, marry and reconcile faith and sexuality.

Following that, on 6/23, I'm hosting Aneesh Sheth and Jeremy Behrens.  Aneesh is the creator of CRAVE, a new Net Series about three friends starring Aneesh as Maggie, a transwoman struggling to become an actress, Jeremy as Bobbi, a gay man stuck in a dead-end job and an abusive relationship and Angela DiMarco as Karen, a military wife with struggling with infertility and a marriage that is no longer the same after he husband come homes from a year in Afghanistan.  While we're waiting, go check out their pilot episode, and if you like what you see, support their kick-starter so that a full season can become a reality!

And then on 6/30, we've got Jessica Udischas, creator of the web-comic Manic Pixie Nightmare Girls, which gives a bitingly satirical look at life as transgender woman, putting up with cissexism, transmisogyny, bigots, bad allies, great friends and REAL LIFE. If you like what you see there and would like to support this comic, please visit her Patreon!

I want to thank everyone again for coming on and speaking with me, everyone who's tuned in and helped to make the show a success and especially Barbara for giving me this opportunity.

I DO hope that you will join in next week, Tuesday, 6/9 at 10:PM Eastern on www.RainbowRadio.FM for the next show, during which I'll be presenting my "opposition opinion" on Caitlyn Jenner, give my thoughts on the forthcoming Supreme Court decision regarding State bans on Same-Sex marriage, and do my take down of a recent Right-Wing article concerning "When Science Doesn't Matter to Liberals." IMHO Radio - 6/2/15

Last week's show, with Carrie Reimer went really well, it was huge success.  If you didn't catch it, it can be found on the IMHO Radio page.  It is of particular importance to anyone involved with a Narcissist, or anyone who suspects that a friend or loved one might be.  To learn more, please also visit Carrie's blog, Lady With A Truck where she goes in to great detail about some of the most horrible and personal experiences of her life in the hopes that she may help others to recognize the dangers that people with NPD pose. If you would like to support the work that Carrie is doing, you can make a donation, or buy something from her store.

Coming up next week, we've got a really fun show. I've never had so much fun interviewing someone or laughed so hard doing it. My special guest is the very funny and talented Megan Rose Gedris, creator of Meaty Yogurt as well as arguably my favorite web-comic of all-time, YU&ME: Dream. Beyond that she is a member of the Super Happy Fun Time Burlesque troupe, and has rather a few more... *a-hem* adult oriented comics to her name as well.  We had a great time, lots of fun, please join us - you won't regret it!

Racism in Policing

SO, I've made the case several times that open-carry is a Whites-only privilege, and that the cops treat whites and blacks dramatically differently in the same situation.

Well, here you go:

Tell me again how racism is dead? How the police don't have a racial bias? Tell me why one man's rights are protected while several of the other's are violated.

Simple answer: If you cannot give a Right to everyone equally, then no one should be given that Right.

Mixed Emotions on Bruce Jenner

Spell Check, People!

OK... I am completely aware that I'm not exactly allergic to typo's myself, but if you're gonna build a sign and then go and buy four different colors of paint...?

BEHOLD: The wit of Conservatives!

Friday, April 24, 2015

And that's that!

I'm going to expand on this a bit later on, as well as counter some of the clunclusions one might draw from it regarding the kinds of candidates the Democrats should be nominating, but, in the meantime, please enjoy this very succint, well-written piece explaning Why the Republicans will never win another National Election.

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Do you think we could all criticize Ann Coulter...

...WITHOUT denigrating Trans People, please?  Is that possible?

Please feel free to use the meme below if you'd like to. I very rarely pick fights over "Political Correctness," but this IS a hill I'm willing to die on.

The Inevitable Hillary Clinton

Now about those videos I referenced...  IMHO Hall of Famer, CGP Grey has put together a series of excellent videos on various electoral systems.  These are critical of the one we use, and offer alternatives that would make for more representative voting, avoid gerrymandering and encourage a wider array of Political Parties. I highly recommend watching all of them, as they are all really well done. But if you don't have the time or patience for that, please be sure to at least watch the FIRST one, especially if you think Bernie Sanders should run as Independent, or a strong 3rd Party should be formed.

(Facebook) Trolls... and William

(Hopefully that'll get him to watch this!)

First thread, from a Liberal Page:

So... Calls first poster a cunt, says "U R Dumb" to me about a dozen times, fails to come up with even a single example when asked, tells the PAGE'S OWNER (Mark Smith)to STFU, and then says he wants to talk about "pussay" instead.

BEHOLD: The Republican base!

Since he seemed to appreciate that Mr. Smith welcomes all opinions, I almost wanted to point out that we welcome (or at least respond in kind) to differing opinions HERE as well, if only because I though t it would be extremely amusing to have a Conservative that even William couldn't stand . LOL. But no - ain't nobody got for that!

And here is the second example, including the header graphic, from a Conservative Page:

At the time of ths posting? STILL no examples.

Who can argue this?

How I feel about the next Star Wars Movie...

Trailer 1:

Trailer 2:

So... Uh... Anyone want to come over and play Star Wars figures?

;)

Found on my Tumblr...

Yes, I have a Tumblr. (https://www.tumblr.com/blog/niceguyeddiecabot)

FWIW, I also am on Twitter (@niceguyeddiecab) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/eddie.cabot.96)

I am still most active HERE, but if you want to hook up on any of those platforms, there you go. I'm a lot more active on Facebook now that I've been banned from Media Matters (more on that later, if you're interested.) But THIS is still my primary blog.

ANYWAY, something amusing from Tumblr:

Or, y’know, that thing called “Passover.”
Or the whole thing with Noah’s Ark where he killed off everything in the world except Noah and his family, and two of every animal. Y’know, no big deal. Just millions of people.
90% of the Old Testament is about God killing people in temper tantrums
Are we not going to mention Jesus?
Nailed it.
*wheeze*
Oh my god.
Nailed it.
Will reblog this every time until the rapture!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Last comment mine.)

I'm not suggesting that this is how I view abortion, but I always find it hilarious whenever someone invokes God in an argument and clearly has *NO FUCKING IDEA* what they're talking about.

*a-hem* Not that anyone HERE ever does that. *cough* *cough*

And of course there's the Jesus joke, which is in HIGHLY poor taste and yet really fucking funny despite. (Sorry - I can't account for my tastes, poor as they are! I was born with them after all!) ;)

Whip it out for us, would you?

A transgender man, Tristan Broussard, is suing his former employer, Tower Loan, after he was fired for refusing to present female at work.  His former employer said that if he ‘had some surgeries and we can see some results we would consider hiring you back’…

“Could see some results?!”

So… Lemme get this straight... Apparently now, whipping it out and plopping it down on your boss’s desk is hot NOT to get fired?!

WTF, Tower?!

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

And I suppose this is just "defensive driving?"

And I suppose THIS is just "defensive driving?"

Police Chief acknowledges, "This is not standard protocol."

You mean attempted vehicular homicide? I should hope not!

And sure, I'm glad the Cops didn't have to end up shooting him, but this is NOT the alternative I had in mind!

--------ADDENDUM---------

I took this down for a day to mull it over some more.  And what the hell, I'm going to put it back up.

My main point of personal conflict here is the realization that even *I* don't believe that this had a good chance of ending well.  Disturbed man, loaded rifle, what... eight cops?  In all likelihood, he get shot. And it would likely be JUSTIFIED that he gets shot.  And if he gets shot, he likely dies.

And he didn't die here.

All the same, it's not like Officer GTA there acted with any kind of care or restraint, and it's only by blind luck that he ISN'T dead - a death that would be far less justified under the present circumstances....

...But I don't see a likely alternative scenario that ends with the man being taken alive.  Just begin realistic.

But there's still a though that I can't shake, no matter how armed and dangerous this man may have been... They took THIS guy alive:

Not to mention quite a few others...

So I still find this disturbing.  And the first cop in the video didn't seem to like it too much either.

ENOUGH!

BTW? It's actually TWICE as many. Twice as many in ONE MONTH, than a CENTURY.

Good luck with that one.

Sorry, boys..

Civil Disobedience?

No, not really.

I was looking at some of my blogs numbers, to try and find where my recent uptick in readership was coming from, and I noticed something interesting:

4/8/2015 to 4/15/2015

Apparently, behind the United States, I'm getting the next highest number of page-views from RUSSIA.

Now, in light of their "Law" prohibiting "pro-Gay" or "Homosexual Propaganda," and in consideration of the many pro-Gay Rights and LGBT+ positive posts I've made over the years, it would appear that I'm helping people break that particular law, or am breaking it myself. (Yeah, I know: Assuming they can even SEE all of my blog, and the State isn't managing to block it.)

All the same, that really amuses me.  It pleases me greatly that I might be playing some nanoscopic role in helping people thumb their nose at Vladimir Putin and his absurd little scum-puddle of a censorship law. I certainly hope so, anyway!

So, in short, if you or your comrades are reading this: Fuck you, Putin!

:P

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

...And another...

Yet another unarmed black man shot by cops. This time he was mocked while dying.

“He shot me! He shot me, man. Oh, my god. I’m losing my breath.” ~Eric Harris, down and in the process of being cuffed

“Fuck your breath! Shut the fuck up!” ~Officer Sociopath

How many more of these do we need to see?  How many?!

Monday, April 13, 2015

So... Hillary's running!

Wow. I mean... Who saw that coming, huh?

Just kidding.  Of course this was inevitable. Has been for eight years. And while I do not count myself as a "fan" of Secretary Clinton's, and will cast a largely symbolic vote for Senator Warren, should she appear on the MI Primary Ballot, I will be a strong supporter of her, and the Democrats going forward through next November and beyond.

Again... Who saw that coming, huh?

And while I say, "I'm not a fan," I want to be clear: I have NEVER, and I do mean NEVER, bought into any of the RW Conspiracy theory pseudo-scandal bullshit that has being circling around the Secretary since her earliest day as First Lady. Nor do I find her, "Divisive." Considering that trope comes from a RW media, RW Blogs and Beltway Press with a history of being hostile to Democrats in general, and Secretary Clinton in particular, I find it about as relevant, legitimate and accurate an opinion as... well, pretty much all the other verbal diarrhea these assholes vomit out on a nigh daily basis.

She's certainly not above criticism, but it's amazing how wrong her critics so often get it...

Tell me she's a Socialist? And you're an idiot.

Tell me she's too close to Wall Street? THEN you have a point.

Tell me a woman would make a weak President? And you're a sexist.

Tell me she's far too hawkish ? THEN you have a point.

IOW: Every one of her flaws are the few ways in which she is more like a Republican. That's HARDLY a reason to vote for the other guy. (The Republican.)

No, as Forward progressives put it so perfectly, the choice in November breaks down like this:

1) Do you want Hillary Clinton, someone who supports marriage equality; improving the Affordable Care Act; raising the minimum wage; equal pay for women; abortion rights; the separation of church and state; and immigration reform but might not be the perfect “liberal candidate” in all areas (though if we give her a Congress controlled by Democrats they can make her more liberal) - or -
2) Do you want a Republican who literally opposes everything I just listed above, and will do just about everything within their power to undo any progress we've made these last six years, likely returning us to Bush-era economics and foreign policies.
...OR as another source who's name eludes me at the moment, but who I will replace her if I can find them:

It's a choice between someone who is completely fucking insane, and one who is... not.

And while they haven't even had my consideration since 2000 - and I was considering McCane, not Bush (NEVER Bush!) - given the current Republican Clown Car-like primary of Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum, Donald Trump and Bobby Jindal?

This will be the EASIEST vote I've ever cast.

And no amount of Whitewater/Vince Foster/Benghazi-gate bullshit is going to change that.
